Cameron Pyke, Designer and Managing Director
Many years ago I was a teacher. A dominant strand of design and craftsmanship runs in the family DNA. The overpowering urge to make things won out and I retrained as a woodworker.
I’ve made all kinds of furniture but especially kitchen cabinetry and dressers. In the early days it was very much ‘hands on’ – I would often install the cabinets that I myself had built in the workshop. Nowadays my role is mostly design – I drive a computer whilst the excellent workshop team do the making. Crucially, my design work is informed by many years practical experience – a huge advantage I have over most retail kitchen designers.
Emma Bryant, Designer and Projects Director
Emma Bryant has a BA in Interior Architecture and an MSc in Computer Aided Architectural Design with experience of public, corporate and domestic projects. Emma joined Celtica Kitchens in 2014 as a CAD technician developing computer visuals from Bruce’s and my sketches. She is immensely capable and hardworking and was soon producing her own excellent designs. We decided to involve Emma in all aspects of the running of the firm. In her Project Management role Emma creates working drawings and oversees each job’s progress through manufacturing. In 2016 we have invited Emma to be a Director.
Emma is a fine designer with sensitivity of line and proportion that shows itself in her other work in graphics and stationery. She has added laser cutting as an extra dimension to Celtica’s manufacturing capabilities. This process can add beautiful decorative detail to our furniture.
Emma is our designer for projects in Wales and the West.
Bruce Runton, Designer and Installer
Bruce Runton comes from the Isle of Skye and started his working life on his father’s fishing boat. He moved south and gained a City & Guilds qualification in joinery, picking up experience of all kinds of building projects.
Bruce has amassed an encyclopaedic knowledge of domestic construction and refurbishment over the years – particularly in the field of fitted furniture. If we ever encounter a problem Bruce probably worked out several possible solutions, right down to the last screw, several years ago. Many aspects of our cabinet making and design best practice are based on his ideas.
Bruce is the main installer for our projects in the London area. He is a fine woodworker and an excellent designer. His portfolio includes kitchens, bedrooms, home offices, entertainment rooms, bars – and a treehouse.
